About MESAP
The Middle East Society for Analytic Philosophy (MESAP) aims to be a philosophical hub, promoting the analytic tradition in the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region. MESAP is an international academic society, and membership is open to anyone interested in the analytic tradition, whether or not they are professional philosophers.
The MESAP has many aspirational projects including:
- Organizing an annual conference in a different city in the MENA region on a revolving basis.
- Publishing a biannual refereed journal in the analytic tradition in both English and Arabic (other languages might be included at later stages).
- Promoting broader interest in analytic philosophy through public outreach (e.g. by conducting public workshops, talks, online platform discussions, reading groups, etc.).
- Translating canonical analytic texts to Arabic, Turkish, and other languages.
- Sponsoring academic exchanges between MENA universities and international institutions.
- Coordinating and promoting research projects among scholars in the MENA region.
- Supporting young scholars in their early academic careers.
